Azusa Street Revival

A revival held at a mission on Azusa Street in Los Angeles from 1906, led by William J. Seymour, an African American Holiness preacher. Its meetings featured speaking in tongues and drew people of many races and nations.

It ran for several years and sent visitors and missionaries across North America and abroad. It is widely seen as the main launching point of the worldwide Pentecostal movement.
